BEHOLD!
A guitar to honor the man, the myth, the American Treasure: Charlie Parr.
In 2016 I was making guitars in my basement when Charlie came along and inquired about our tricones. His response to that first instrument and the friendship that followed is just as much Mule as Mule itself. This music tool is my humble attempt at thanking him for his music and his friendship.
The Parr Mule is our wood bodied tricone. It's built to be a link between normal flat top guitars and resonators. It's available in six string or in Charlie's nine string set up - double A, D and G strings. It's a less jangly 12 string configuration so melody notes come out loud and clear. It’s also available in standard 12 string.
Base Price: $3925. Waitlist is currently four months. We will confirm options with you about a month before the build begins. You’ll receive progress pictures as the guitar progresses!
Our capacity for these is very low so the waitlist is expected to climb quickly. The $400 non refundable deposit counts towards the total.

Is this a body size that is a double O? Say, smaller than a dreadnought but a bit larger than a parlor? Also, can we get a picture of the case? Nut width and bridge width? Also, is it possible to put volume and tone knobs on the front treble lower bout? Great add to the stable. Can’t wait to see how this turns out. Thanks
The Mule team would know best, but based on this video by the great Tom Feldmann, likely in the 6 pound range.

Hope this helps.
I saw Charlie in October with his 9 string and he was kind enough to show me how it was strung. Yes, Matt is correct on which strings get the octaves on the guitar he built. I can not tell you how drop dead gorgeous these things are up close. I didn't hear it unplugged but the sound from the stage was awesome. Great clarity with highs and lows with the midrange sweet and overtoney. Having the low E as a single really keeps the bass deep and crisp.
